Carol Joan Petitte, 88, of Morgantown, passed away at Harmony in Morgantown on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. Carol was born in Wetzel County, WV on March 16, 1934 to the late William Elvy Gorby and Garnet A. Williams Gorby. Carol worked as a secretary for many years, but most of all enjoyed her family. Carol is survived by her daughter: Debra Piktel (David) of Morgantown; son: Robert Petitte, Jr. (Anita) of Charleston, WV; grandchildren: Tyler Piktel of Bridgeport, WV, Courtney Piktel of Dickinson, TX, Chyanne Petitte Proctorville, OH, and Asia Petitte of Huntington, WV; her brother Robert Gorby of New Martinsville, WV and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Petitte Sr. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 3 pm to 6 pm. A funeral service will be held at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11 am with Father Mauricio as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Peace Mausoleum in Star City.
