Obituary of Richard Jolliffe
Richard M. (Pappy) Jolliffe entered through the gates of Heaven surrounded by his loving family on May 28, 2015. He was born in Arizona on January 12, 1938,the son of the late Frank and Gladys Kelley Jolliffe.
He was the former owner of Laurel Valley Trucking, where he was known as the “Frenchman” and retired from Emerald Coal Mines in Waynesburg, PA, where he operated heavy equipment. In his spare time, he could be found spending time with his family or fly fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Gloria Sperinzo Jolliffe; his children Karen (Joey) Polce, Richard “DJ” (Petra) Jolliffe, Karla (Glenn) Bolyard, Raymond Jay Jolliffe, Mary Jolliffe, JoDell (Mike) Trotto; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; his sister Carol (Dave) Johnson; his brother Frank (Marlene) Jolliffe; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers James Austin and Dave Jolliffe; and sisters Jean Robertson and Eva May Austin.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion extended to Richard and his family by Amedisys Hospice and his nurses: Chantel, Apryl, and Darla during their time of need.
