Obituary of Jacqueline Dawn Salvaterra
Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacqueline Dawn Salvaterra, age 25, of Morgantown, West Virginia passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, July 13, 2015. She was born on August 5, 1989 in Natrona Heights, PA.
Jackie loved her work as a nurse at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She started her career in the Cardiac Critical Care unit and later worked in the day surgery unit. Jackie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and was recently accepted into the University of Pittsburgh’s Nurse Anesthetist graduate program. Jackie’s focused determination to earn her graduate degree was inspiring.
Jackie spent much of her free time with the family of loyal friends she built during the eight years she called Morgantown home. She enjoyed life’s simple pleasures – shopping, movies and making people smile. Jackie always knew how to bring fun and life to any situation.
Jackie is survived by her parents, Jack and Donna (Middleby) Salvaterra of Vandergrift, PA, grandmother Jacqueline Middleby, and two big sisters – Jessica Salvaterra Grondine and husband Jeffrey of Germantown, MD, and Sarah Salvaterra Boland and husband Joseph A. of Burke, VA. Aunt Jackie adored her nephew and nieces – Justin (13), Clara (5), Lucie (3) and Audrey (2). Jackie’s beloved black and white Boston Terrier CeCe brought her joy and comfort during challenging times.
She was preceded in death by grandparents Bruno and Leona Salvaterra and Isaac Middleby, and her Great Aunt Alba Folino.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to www.CureAML2015.org or by mail to: Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Riverwalk Center 333 East Carson Street Suite 441 Pittsburgh, PA 15219 with “Salvaterra” noted in the memo line.
