Obituary of Marilyn Carol Smallwood

Marilyn Carol Smallwood, 64, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. She was born in Lowesville, WV on December 10, 1950 to the late Earl & Flora Junko Newbraugh.
Carol was a homemaker and devoted her life to the needs of her family. She could often be found cooking for her family and close friends or hosting large family gatherings.
Carol is survived by her husband of 48 years, Roy Douglas Smallwood; daughter Pam Covert and her husband Brian, of Morgantown; son Roy D. Smallwood II, of Farmington; a special daughter-in-law Kelley Smallwood; brothers Earl Newbraugh Jr., Thomas Newbraugh, Michael Newbraugh and his wife Sheila; grandchildren Roy D. “Trey” Smallwood III, Rennick C. Smallwood, Majanlyn F. McClurg, Myrriah L. McClurg, and Olivea P. Covert; brothers-in-law Donald Smallwood and his wife Shirley, Daniel Smallwood and his wife Kim, and Eddie Smallwood and his wife Neda; sisters-in-law Bonnie McCabe, Carole Forman and her husband Ted, Judy Bissett and her husband Richard, Carol Smallwood, and Violet Smallwood; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son Roy “Doug” Smallwood Jr. and her brother Harry “Butch” Newbraugh.
Family and friends are invited to gather in support of one another at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, July 30th, from 3-5 & from 6 until the 8 pm funeral service with Pastor Barbara Hamrick officiating. Following the service McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com.
