Andrew “Andy” (Chip) Alex Orinick, 70, of Morgantown passed away at Mon Health Medical Center on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Andy was born in Morgantown on July 25, 1949 to the late Andrew Orinick and Myrtle Columbus Orinick. Andy worked as a coal miner, working at Federal 2, Osage, and Robinson Run and was a proud member of the UMWA. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, kayaking, and spending time with his grandchildren. Andy had a distinct sense of humor and was well known for his sarcasm. Andy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia “Patty” Brand Orinick; daughter Lori Choate (Wiley) of Morgantown; son Matthew Orinick (Jennifer) of Morgantown; grandchildren: Travis Orinick and Allison Choate; step-granddaughter: Linda Rowan; brother: John Orinick (Christy); sisters-in-law: Deloris Ratliff (Anthony), Peggy Alley (Michael), and Debbie Hamrick (Todd); and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd., Westover, on Friday, from 4-8 pm and on Saturday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Michael Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
