Obituary of Thomas T. DeWitt
Thomas Thayer DeWitt age 79 of Mt. Morris, Pa passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his home. He was born December 16, 1939 in Bitner, PA a son of the late Foster Thomas DeWitt and Viola Marie Williams DeWitt.
Thomas worked in the HVAC Department at WVU. He also worked as an Air Craft mechanic, coal miner, and machinist for Bethlehem Steel and Consol and was a United States Air Force Veteran. Thomas was a strong man of faith and an active member of his community. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Mt. Morris, the VFW, Eagles, Morgantown Moose, and the Masonic Lodge of Little Rock Arkansas.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marlene Ellen Goff DeWitt, one daughter, Tara DeWitt Gilchrist (Steve) of Mt. Morris, two sons, Karry Foster DeWitt (Becky) of Fairmont and Scott Cameron DeWitt (Misty) of Fairmont, three brothers, his identical twin, John Milo DeWitt (Karen), Gregory DeWitt (Linda), and James Goff (Deborah), and three grandchildren, Austen Levi DeWitt, Hunter Scott DeWitt, and Bria Cantwell.
Thomas was preceded in death by two sisters, Pamela Kirby and Barbara Thomas.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, from 6-8 pm Friday and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor David Huckins officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with graveside military honors by the Westover VFW Post #9916. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.McCulla.com.
