My condolences to the family. I am sorry to learn of your recent loss. Losing a loved one in death can leave us with feelings of sadness and grief. However, there is a beautiful hope for the future. Isaiah 25:8 says, “He will swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” So not only will God eliminate death, but all the feelings of pain that come with losing a loved one in death will also be a thing of the past. We will truly be able to experience the promise that “death will be no more” (Revelation 21:4).

Jose wasn’t just a brilliant man, he had a brilliant heart. He was passionate about life, his family, his friends, community, and each patient he encountered. They could feel that they were more than just numbers and cases. What a blessing it is that Braxton County got to claim him as their own for so many years, He will be greatly missed by so many. <3

Dr. B was one of a kind. A very kind soul, a good doctor, and one that I trusted completely. And haven’t much trusted another doctor since them days. He had done many surgeries on me and I always felt in good hands. He always had a joke to tell or wanted to make you smile. And he truly loved his career. God bless him and his family. Rest in peace not only were you a blessed doctor but a frind too.

I had the privilege and honor to work with Dr. B at BCMH and to worship with him at St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was a wonderful loving, caring, kind, individual who loved the Lord, his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He was always smiling. I remember when I was joining the Catholic church he gave me a video that explained it all. It meant the world to me. He will be sorely missed.

Dr. B was a huge part of my dad’s life and my family’s life. My dad fixed Dr. B’s family’s cars all the time and he was also my dad’s doctor up until he quit practicing. My dad Delbert Wynes and Dr. B were best friends. He was always at my house when I was growing up. My dad was heart broken when Dr. B left Braxton County. Thoughts and prayers for the whole family. He will truly be missed.

I do not have the words to express my feelings right now but I know I’LL see him soon. To his wonderful family Sue, Joey, Tiffany, and Melissa you have my sympathy And also his family in New York who I had the chance and honor to meet when we were supposed to attend the weeding of a friends daughter but found ourselves on the subway and then At the World Trade Center. I was in the ARMY for ten (10) years and worked with many surgeons but NONE COULD HOLD A CANDLE TO JOE!!!!!!!!! He looked at me once and said I smell an appendix BUD !!!!! I listened to every word he said about surgery after that !!!!The people of Braxton County were Lucky to have him as long as they did. and suffered a huge loss when he left. He operated on me several times. Once for a hernia and then we went fishing at Stone Coal lake He had me carry the end of the boat with the motor on it. I reminded him he had just done a hernia repair the day before and HE SAID HE WAS JUST CHECKING HIS WORK,. WELL everything came out Okay, we caught several fish and we were both happy of course it was difficult to be around Dr.B and not be HAPPY !!!! Joe I’ll see you soon my FRIEND AND I AM PROUD TO CALL HIM MY FRIEND !!!! My wife Susan was operating room supervisor and she will miss him Greatly. We were both Friends Of Joe and his Family. His girls came to see me when I was in the hospital for open and it SUPPRISED THE HECK OUT OF ME !! But I should have known They are Dr.B’s daughters and that is how they were raised and are so fortunate to have a MOTHER LIKE SUE.HE TOLD ME SEVERAL YEARS AGO I WOULD COME HOME !! HE WAS CORRECT AGAIN, I AM NOW BACK IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH WHERE I BELONG THANK YOU JOE FOR EVERYTHING MY FRIEND. (YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN !!!!!!!)

My condolences to Joe’s family. I will never forget how Dr. B would sneak in BCMH and sing to the staff over the paging system on Christmas day and how proud he always was of Tiffany when she danced in the dance recitals. He would say she is a wonderful dancer, watch her, with a big smile. He saved MANY lives in Braxton County and was a pleasure to work with.
