When I heard of his passing, I was so shocked. He was a nice man, and I don't say that lightly; he had such a kind and loving heart that makes people feel at ease to be around him. He spoke very lovingly of his children, as we were the same age and we had children around the same age. We talked a lot, as he worked! He was a tall and handsome man who worked at a physically demanding job but he made it look easy! One time he let me try to use the machine he used, and I could not even do it for 1 minute, yet he could handle it all day! He had so much strength, and vigor, yet you would never hesitate to let him work anywhere in your house because his eyes just made you trust him. His trustworthiness was obvious from the moment you met him. I used to always give him a $20 tip, which he heartily protested! He would argue and say "You are going to pay for my lunches all week?" He didn't like it but I insisted, every time. He deserved much more in life than he got, I felt. He had the persona of a leader, and he could have had anything! He had so much more life to live, and it would have been better! It's such a sad loss for everyone. He made a difference in the world, though! More than just being really into flooring, which he WAS, his eyes were sincere, and loving. Not many people can immediately project that kind of caring and listening that he could. You never had to say something twice to Gary, he got it and he never forgot anything...which is such a rare quality in a person! He valued people, and I think he was a true humanitarian. I miss him! Blessings to his children! Your dad loved you, so dearly!
