Obituary of Margaret L. Hassenpflug
Margaret Lora Hassenpflug, 94, of Morgantown, died March 5, 2019, at her home. She joined her deceased, beloved husband, Walter A. Hassenpflug, Sr. and also her deceased infant daughter, Sheila Marlene Hassenpflug, in Heaven. She had always expressed that when she left this current world, she would have a grand reunion with them on the other side. She would also join her Heavenly Father.
She was born in Morgantown, on March 6, 1924, daughter of Arthur Clifford Hunt and Ella Pearl Wildman Hunt.
She is survived by her son and spouse, Walter A. Hassenpflug, Jr. and his wife Sandra Jo; two sisters: Joyce Romito and her husband Bill of Morgantown, Mary Ann Liston and her husband Ronald of Bruceton Mills, and one adopted sister Sandy Gifford and her husband Mike of Morgantown; one adopted brother, Jimmy Hunt and his wife Alisha of Tunnelton. She is survived by grandson Derek Galen Hassenpflug and his wife Elizabeth of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hassenpflug Sr. in 2001, her father Arthur C. Hunt and mother E. Pearl Hunt; two sisters: Mina McCartney and Louise Jones; three brothers: George, Charles, and Walter Hunt.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, playing her piano at home and playing the organ at camp sites and fishing with her family and friends. But most of all, she enjoyed reading her Bible and was Pentecostal by faith.
The family wishes to thank Hospice aide Tammy Merrill for taking such good care of Margaret, as well as all of the other hospice staff who helped in her care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Reigning Word Ministries, 349 Plum Run Road Mannington, WV 26582.
Friends and family are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, March 8th from 4-7 pm and again on Saturday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Angie Long, of Reigning Word Ministries officiating.
