Obituary of Ethel Anna Jones Maurin

Ethel Anna Jones Maurin, 91, of Westover, passed away at Home Away From Home in Grafton, on September 29, 2015. Ethel was born in Morgantown on September 14, 1924 to the late David Owen Jones and Anna Elizabeth McKinney Jones. Ethel was a waitress at the Hotel Morgan and worked at the Registrar’s Office at West Virginia University. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, quilting, and most of all spending time with her family. Ethel is survived by her husband, Edward Lawrence Maurin; her daughter Barbara Ryan and her husband Barry, of Morgantown; her son James Maurin and his wife Michelle of Morgantown; three grandchildren Shawn Ryan and his wife Beth, Kelly Giles and her husband Chris, and Cody Maurin; two great-grandchildren Allison Ryan and Zachary Ryan; one sister Alice Ballas; and one brother Alfred Jones. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by two brothers William Jones and Harry Jones. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Ethel’s memory to Hospice Care Corp. at P.O. Box 760 Arthurdale, WV 26520 Friends are invited to gather in support of the family at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, October 2, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Rev. David Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
