Helen was born March 16, 1931 in Reedsville, WV to the late Frances Pyles Cook and John Ralph Cook.
Helen was a 1949 graduate of Masontown High School and later graduated from Morgantown Business College. She was a bookkeeper for many years for several hardware and construction companies in the area.
Helen was a faithful member of Suncrest United Methodist Church where she was very active in the United Methodist Women. She served as treasurer for over twenty years, helped in the kitchen and dining room and was a 50+ year member of the UMW.

Upon her retirement from teaching, she kept herself busy with caring for her two grandchildren, playing in her weekly bridge club, and camping and traveling with Glenn. You could always find her working word find puzzles or watching her soap operas until her health would no longer permit.
