Obituary of Josephine Elizabeth "Pete" Murphy

Josephine Elizabeth “Pete” Murphy, 89, of Jere, WV passed away at home on March 29, 2018. Josephine was born in Crellin, MD on October 31, 1928 to the late Ernest McRobie and Lillian Stevens McRobie.

She was a homemaker who loved to cook, bake, crotchet, and most of all spend time with her family.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Etta Paugh, of Springfield, OH; son Charles Murphy of Casstown, OH; grandchildren Etta Marie (Kenny) Kettlehake, Brenda Lea (Jerry) Preston, and Elizabeth Jean (Neal) Shambaugh and Savannah Smith who she thought of as a granddaughter; great grandchildren: Jarvis (Rebecca) Kettlehake, Angela (Ray) Dom, Elizabeth (Scott) Phillips, Gregory (Crystal) Shambaugh, Gerald (Heather) Preston, Rebecca (Bradley) Whitten, Jesse Kettlehake and Jessica Shambaugh; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and her husband, Barbara and Gary Smith, with whom she made her home.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, McComas “Doc” Murphy; three sisters: Louise, Dorothy, and Nancy; and four brothers: David, Carlton, Mayford and Dale.

Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd. Morgantown, WV 26501 on Monday, April 2nd from 4-6 pm and again on Tuesday, April 3rd from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Dolly Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
