Obituary of Mervin Knotts
Mervin Knotts age 80 of W. Jefferson Street, Westover passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at Mapleshire Nursing Home after complications following a massive stroke. He was born February 23, 1937 in Benbush, WV a son of the late Delton Knotts and Louise Shambaugh Knotts.
Mervin had been employed as a Federal Mine Inspector for MSHA. He was a United States Army Veteran and graduated from WVU in 1960 as a Geologist. Mervin enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping and fishing.
Mervin is survived by his wife Karen Morgan Knotts, two daughters, Lisa Ann Hileman and husband Wendell of Kingwood and Molly Beth Knotts of Morgantown, three sons, Timothy Allen Knotts of Kingwood, Christopher Lynn Knotts and wife Nicole of Alabama, and Todd Matthew Knotts and wife Miki of Las Vegas, NV, sisters, Pauline Lowther, Adeline Snyder and husband Kelly, Arlene Ramsey, Patty Wilfong and husband Sonny, Judy Ternent and husband Harry, and Norma Jones and husband Keith, brothers, Delton Knotts and wife Jean, William Knotts, and Norman Knotts and wife Gabriella, grandchildren, Elyssa Knotts, Justin Knotts, Tyler Knotts, Josh Knotts, Nicholas Knotts, Jael Knotts, Leilani Knotts, Gordon Pull, Zachary Pull, Zachary Flesher, and Jordan Swatzyna, and great grandchildren Maddox Pull and Devlin Pull.
Mervin was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Sue Pull, step-son, Bryan Earl Steele, sisters, Malora Corbin and Karen Knotts and one brother Clarence Knotts.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover on Thursday from 3-7 pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with full military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and the WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
