Obituary of Edward Hare Sr.
Edward George Hare Sr., 86, of Shriver Run, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 28, 2017. Edward was born in Morgantown on May 17, 1931 to the late Allen and Mary Nindle Hare.
He graduated from University High School, where he met the love of his life for 58 years, Mary Ann Javosky Hare. Edward served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, Edward worked as a coal miner for many years. Above all else, Edward was devoted man to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Edward loved the outdoors, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He was also passionate about going to flea markets, camping, and vacationing in Ocean City, MD, working on ceramics. He was an avid follower of the Steelers, WVU Football and Nascar.
Edward is survived by his daughter Tina Willard and her husband Michael “Whistler” of Mt. Morris, PA; sons Edward Hare Jr. and his wife Brenda of Days Run, WV and Troy Hare of Shriver, WV; two granddaughters Telena and Kayla; four great grandchildren: Jordan, Hayden, Zachary, and Aubrey; one brother Glen Hare of Las Vegas, NV; and his loving and faithful dog: Toi.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ann Javosky Hare; and his brother Eugene Hare.
Friends are invited to gather in support of the family at McCulla Funeral Home on Sunday, October 1st from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and again on Monday from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Edward will be laid to rest next to his wife at Beverly Hills Cemetery with full military honors conferred by Westover VFW #9916 and WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.
