Obituary of Wilma Westbrook

Wilma Lee Riggins Westbrook of Morgantown, formerly of Clarksburg, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Sundale Nursing home following an extended illness. Born September 26, 1926 in Shinnston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Lee Riggins and Maggie Lenora Parsons. Wilma was graduated valedictorian of the Shinnston High Class of 1944 and went on to pursue various secretarial positions in the Clarksburg area. She served as a deputy assessor of Harrison County for nearly 30 years. On August 30, 1952 she married Harry Clifton “Cliff” Westbrook, who preceded her in death on December 8, 1981. She is survived by her daughter, Lynda “Suzie” Martin and her husband Dan, and son John Westbrook of Morgantown. Also surviving are grandchildren Thomas Westbrook and wife Rebecca, Lora Martin Spurbeck and husband Joshua, all of Morgantown, and Christina Martin Smith and husband Brian of Marlinton. Wilma adored four great-grandchildren, Nolan Spurbeck and Evelyn Westbrook of Morgantown and Eowyn and Carter Smith of Marlinton. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Pastor Charles May officiating.
