Vivian Virginia Ray, 93, went from her earthly home in Cassville to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, November 27, 2016. She was a born again Christian with Heavenly treasure! Virginia lived in the Cassville area since 1955. She was born the middle child of seven children to Frank and Elsie Clem Kirby in Kitzmiller, Garrett County, Maryland. Vivian was the last surviving member of her family, who all dearly loved their hometown of Kitzmiller; they treasured every memory of their lives there.
Virginia was the widow of Delmar (Mike) Ray; her husband of 42 years. They were the parents of David and Linda; and a son who passed in infancy. Virginia was devoted to her family and was a loving Mother, MiMi, Great Grandmother, and Great-Great Grandmother. She was an extraordinary seamstress, bread and cookie maker, and shared all of that with the children. She also shared her great love of books, bought Bibles for all the family and took them to church. Virginia retired from WVU Hospitals Housekeeping Department and was an 18 year member of the Mt. Morris, PA Senior Citizens.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Linda Mitchell; son-in-law Buck Tennant and his wife Claudette; son David Ray and his wife Pearl; grandchildren; Joe and Jenny Tennant, their children JJ and Jessica Tennant; Judith and Ray Collins, David and Fawn Mitchell and their children Madison McFann and Brooklyn Mitchell; Nikki and Josh Martin, their children Kaleb, Jayden, and Peyton Martin; Randy and Rita Ray; their children Daniel, Autumn, John, and Hannah Ray; Jeff and Kristina Ray; their child Elijah Ray; Chrisann and Mark Fowler; Sarah Bench; her children Ethan and Jayden Bench. Also surviving, include three half-brothers, Delano, Douglas, and Theodore Kirby and numerous nieces and nephews.
She attended Bailey Mission Church for many years and most recently loved going to Faith Christian Fellowship, Grafton Road.
