Earl Lloyd Coen age 82 of Core was carried away in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Friday, November 18, 2016 at his home. He was born December 14, 1933 in Pittsburgh a son of the late William F. Coen and Catherine Johnson Coen Cline.
Earl was employed as a machinist for forty-seven years, the bulk of which he spent working at Federal No. 2 Mine. He was a member of Olive United Methodist Church and also attended Dolls Run Christian Church. Earl’s hobbies were woodworking, fishing and raising his garden.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Paula Kay Coen Jenkins of Core, daughter-in-law, Janet Jenkins Coen of Core, Donna and Rodger Ozburn, grandchildren Ella Jo Conner and husband James “Red”, Amanda Kay Stull and husband Michael, and Rebecca Ann Jenkins, great grandchildren, Roselynn Tennant, Joshua Conner, Aiden Stull and Emma Stull, sisters, Anna Mae Matthews of Vienna, Gertrude Marra of Heidleberg, PA and Margaret Pugh of Idaho.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Core Coen, his son, Harold L. Coen, son-in-law, Charles Van Jenkins, brother, Herbert Coen and, Caleb Ozburn.
Friends may call at the Doll’s Run Christian Church, Mason-Dixon Highway, Core from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from noon until the 1:00 pm funeral service with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating. Burial will follow at Doll’s Run Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Earl’s memory to the Doll’s Run Christian Church, 2231 Mason-Dixon Highway, Core, WV 26541.
