Debra Susan Duda, 60, of Westover passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born September 15, 1956 to Patricia and Matthew Kudla. Debra married Mark Anthony Duda on October 16, 1982 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Star City. Together, they raised one daughter.
Debra graduated from the WVU School of Dentistry in 1978. She worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Michael Gocke until 1987. She later worked at Dr. Linda Oliver's practice from 1995-2015.
Debra was a devoted wife and loving mother, and dedicated her life to the care of her family and friends. She was also a committed animal advocate, rescuing and caring for many cats and dogs. Debra possessed an unparalleled strength of character and spirit that sustained her all the days of her life. Her patience, humility, bravery, and selflessness during her final days demonstrated her abiding faith and love.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-four years; her daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Michael Foster, of Johnstown, PA; and her sister Rebecca Kudla, of Alexandria, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family may visit at the McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM, with memorial prayers offered at 7:30PM. Visitation will be held from 10-11AM on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at St. Mary's Orthodox Church in Westover. The Funeral Service will then be offered at 11AM with Rev. Fr. Matthew Stagon officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debra's memory to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or to People's Hospice.
May Almighty God rest the soul of His newly departed handmaiden Debra in the mansions of the just, where there is no pain, sorrow, or lamentation, but life everlasting. May her memory be eternal!
