Edward John Pietrowski, age 69, of Morgantown, passed away at the Arbors at Fairmont on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. Edward was born in Morgantown on June 23, 1947, a son of the late Sylvester and Mary Pietrowski. Edward played football and graduated from University High School. Edward relocated to the Los Angeles area of California for several years. He returned to Morgantown to begin an over 30 year career with the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department where he started as a deputy and retired as a Captain. He was very artistic, had an unending sense of humor, and told great stories. He also loved being outdoors especially camping; and was an avid Mountaineer fan, especially Mountaineer football. Edward is survived by his sons, Luke Pietrowski and Jon Pietrowski both of Morgantown; sister, Sylvia Hazucha and husband Bob of Harmony Grove; and brother, Alex Pietrowski and wife Cara of Grafton Road. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Herman Pietrowski. Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, July 15th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, on Saturday at 10 am with Monsignor Cincinnati as celebrant.
