Obituary of Charlotte Tennant
Please share a memory of Charlotte to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charlotte Kay Murray Tennant, age 72, of Jakes Run went to be with the Lord on August 2, 2023 in the comfort of her own home. Charlotte was born March 25, 1951 in Morgantown, WV; a daughter of the late Elmer Murray and Ella Hubbard Murray.
One of Charlotte’s dreams was to own and operate her own craft shop. She loved crocheting and ceramics. Later on, her and her husband added on to make the ship a grocery store, where she loved to sell hunting and fishing licenses, and making so many wonderful friends in the community.
Charlotte is survived by her two beautiful daughters: Melissa (Tim) Hall and Miranda (Chris) Stewart, both of Jakes Run; six grandchildren: Mariah (Tyler) Menas, Timothy (Hannah) Hall, Carolyn and Ava Hall, and Michael, and Matthew Stewart; five great grandchildren: Scarlet, Kaiser, Rosalie, and Brielle Menas, and Graycee May Hall.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Raymond (Peg) Murray, David (Ruth) Murray, Gilbert (Cheryl) Murray, and Wilbert Murray, Norma Deavers, Velma Jean (Paul Jo) Hart, Barbara Jean (Paul) Dalton, and Doris (Orville) Deavers, and several nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was preceded in death by the love of her life: Gary Melvin Tennant, who passed away in 2021; her parents, parents-in-law, and brother: Charles Murray; sisters: Beulah Summers and Eva Blosser; sister-in-law: Kathy Murray and brother-in-law: Fred Deavers.
The family would like to extend their love and gratitude to Mon General Hospital, Encompass Rehab Hospital, and WV Caring Hospice for all of their support in their time of need.
Family and friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Rd., Morgantown, on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 3-7 pm.
