Obituary of John Sproull
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Bowman Sproull, 83, of Morgantown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2023.
John was born in Washington, PA on October 3, 1939, a son of the late Robert Carlysle and Alpha Shoemaker Sproull.
John worked and later retired from PennDot as a draftsman. John was a member of Mount Calvary Assembly of God in Westover, where he served as a board member for over 20 years and was one of the original pioneers that helped establish the Storehouse of God located on Bertha Hill.
John was known for genuinely being humble and was gifted in figuring out the right decisions to make during difficult times.
John was born with cerebral palsy and walked with a cane. He never accepted that label, and would not park in the handicap spaces. Many may remember seeing John fall in the stores or in parking lots around the area. Those who would help him up were always greeted with a smile of gratitude along with a business card that explained the hope John found in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The card also listed the name of a few good local churches and the names of Christian tv and radio stations. “John was”, but now John is, walking tall.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ann Sproull.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5 pm until the 6 pm service time with Pastor Johnny Whitehair officiating. Private burial will take place at Beverly Hills Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at McCulla.com.
