Libby Lambert Snider, age 91, of Morgantown passed away Monday, March 13, 2023 at Pleasant Acres Christian Haven in Fairmont, West Virginia. She was born October 21, 1931 in Renick, Greenbrier County, WV, the daughter of the late Bradford Lambert and Elizabeth Kellison Lambert.
Libby had a career spanning many years in consumer finance (HSBC) and mortgage lending (United Bank and WesBanco) in the Morgantown area during which she formed treasured relationships with colleagues and customers. Throughout her life, Libby was an avid reader and enthusiastic traveler, eventually spending winters on Florida’s Anna Maria Island. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Libby is survived by two daughters, Karen Scott and husband Craig of Bonney Lake, WA and Nancy Snider and companion Frank Hupp of Morgantown, grandchildren, Curtis Scott and spouse Kristin, and Elizabeth Scott and spouse Eric Gottloeb, step-grandchildren, Rhonda Hupp, Sherri Hupp, and Franki Hupp, great-grandchild, Claude Scott and step great-grandchildren, Todd Ballard, Samantha Ballard and Jordan Hupp.
Libby was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Johnny Snider Jr., a daughter, Janet Snider and grandson, Christopher Scott.
The family expresses gratitude to the staff at Pleasant Acres Christian Haven for their professional and compassionate care in recent years and requests donations be made to the Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute at WVU in Libby’s memory and in honor of the countless individuals and families who have experienced Alzheimer’s disease.
A funeral service will be held at McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 10 am with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Following the service, a private burial will take place at Beverly Hills Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com
