Obituary of Shirley Ann Lipscomb

Shirley Ann Lipscomb, 75, of Westover, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Mon General. Shirley was born on August 4, 1947 in Morgantown a daughter of the late Alex Joseph and Anna Marie Petroff Martin. Shirley a retired cook for the Monongalia County Schools from 2008 until 2019. Prior to the Board of Education, beginning in 1965, she was employed at the Pajama Factory and then Morgan Shirt Factory. Shirley was an avid gardener and seamstress. She enjoyed studying the bible and attended Kingdom Hall Jehovah’s Witness meetings. Shirley is survived her son, Ted Lipscomb Jr. (Betty) of Morgantown, Shelly Lipscomb, Keith Lipscomb (Marcie), and Lisa Lipscomb all of Westover; grandchildren, Joshua Lipscomb, Travis Lipscomb, Savannah Lipscomb, Marissa Lipscomb, Brianna Bittinger, and Cody Smith; siblings, Charlie “Butch” Martin, Alex “Chick” Martin, Mary Jane Kirby, and Jim Martin. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Ted James Lipscomb Sr. and two brothers Paul Gobel and John Petroff. Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 9 am until the 11 am service time with Ronnie Barnett Jr. officiating. Internment will follow in Beverly Hills Cemetery.
