Obituary of Elizabeth Dayton

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Dayton age 97 of Granville passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022. Elizabeth was born August 11, 1925 in Fairmont a daughter of the late John and Antonette Belcastro Ferrise. Elizabeth had worked as a glass decorator at Davis-Lynch Glass factory and was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She was a volunteer at the Senior Monongalians until the age of 95, “Serving milk to the old people”. Elizabeth was very artistic and painting was one of her passions, along with sewing, crocheting, gardening, baking, etc. There was nothing she couldn’t do. She was loved and adored by everyone, especially her family and will be deeply missed. Elizabeth is survived by her grandson Andrew Dayton Selbe of Charleston and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Charles Dayton, siblings, Tony Fraze, Mary Phillips, Virginia Torch, Julia Monell, William “Billy” Ferrise, Rose Walker, Lena Dorinzi, Katherine Gacek, and Francis Ferrise. Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road Westover, from 4-6 pm Tuesday and on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Craig Moore officiating.
