Obituary of Delmar Walker
Please share a memory of Delmar to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Delmar Fletcher Walker, 70, of Morgantown, was called to his eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, February 28, 2016 with his loving and supportive family by his side at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Delmar was born in Morgantown, on December 11, 1945, to the late Rev. Paul Dempsey Walker Sr. and Laura Edna Trickett Walker.
Delmar was a retired Lieutenant for the Morgantown Fire Department. Following his retirement, Delmar worked as a janitorial and maintenance man for the Riverside Apostolic Church for many years tending to every need of the church. He was a jack of all trades, able to do anything he put his mind to. He was an excellent carpenter, helping build many of the homes in Greystone and in surrounding areas. In his spare time, he enjoyed: fishing, gardening, hunting, woodworking, and was most notably known for spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of the Riverside Apostolic Church for his entire life.
Delmar is survived by his wife of 30 years, Susan Elaine Rudd Walker; four daughters Katrina Sommers and her husband David of Chippewa Lake, OH, Laura Saltenis and her husband David of Highland Heights, OH, Caitlin Rehe and her husband David of Masontown, WV, and Courtney Arthur and her husband Alex of Cumberland, MD; his grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Emily Sommers, Morgan Walker, Sarah Sommers, Daniel Sommers, Angeleah Saltenis, and Joseph Saltenis; and three brothers; Ronald Walker of Uniontown, PA, Richard Walker of Morgantown, and Paul Dempsey Walker Jr. of Morgantown.
