Obituary of Jarrett "Jarrie" Jamison, Jr.
Jarrett F. (Jarrie) Jamison Jr. age 87 passed away peacefully Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home. He was born March 24, 1931 in Westover a son of Jarrett F. Jamison Sr. and Margaret Smyth Jamison.
After graduating from Morgantown High School, Jarrie served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict. Upon his honorable discharge, Jarrie returned to Westover and began his occupation as an electrician with Jamison Electric Construction Co. He served as owner and president of Jamison Electrical Company that was founded in 1924. Jarrie was a member of the Fort Martin United Methodist Church and was a fifty-five year member of the I.B.E.W. Local # 425. He enjoyed hunting and working on the family farm.
Jarrie is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Lucille Moore Jamison, two sons, James (Nancy) Jamison and Jarrett (Sheila) Jamison, one daughter, Joyce (Steve) Jamison Strakal, grandchildren, Ashley Jamison, Brandon Jamison and Jarrett Jamison IV.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack E. Jamison in 2000.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Monongalia General Hospital Wound Healing Center and Morgantown Amedisys Hospice for the love and care given to Jarrie.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover from 3-7 pm Wednesday and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral service with Rev. Wanda Brosky and Pastor Jim Weber officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Martin Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and the United States Navy. The family requests that donations be made in Jarrie’s memory to the Fort Martin United Methodist, 1153 Fort Martin Road, Maidsville, WV 26541.
