Obituary of Shirley Ann Kiernan
Shirley Ann Kiernan, 78, of Morgantown passed away surrounded by her loving family at Mon General Hospital on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Shirley was born in Morgantown on January 24, 1939 to the late Ethel Ellen St. Clair Fullmer.
Shirley worked at Jamison Electric for over 50 years and was a Catholic by faith. She was heavily involved in the lives of her children; coaching them in basketball, participating on the board at St. Francis Catholic School, and meeting their every need.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Roger Kiernan; son Sean Kiernan and his wife Petra of Leesburg, VA; daughters Tracey Saccani and her husband Michael of Whitehall, Pennsylvania and Erin Jacobs and her husband Steve of Dacula, Georgia; grandchildren Davis and Colin Kiernan Joseph, Michael, and Maria Saccani, and Matt, Nick, and Zack Jacobs; sister Barbara Gallagher of Pittsburgh, PA; two special friends who were like sisters, Mary Kay Barber and Billie Jo DeVall; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her mother, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother Frank Fullmer.
While attending college at WVU grandsons Joseph and Michael Saccani were a great help with household chores and brought great joy as they supported and helped both Shirley and Roger.
In honoring Shirley’s wishes, McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 10 am until the 11 am memorial service with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD, VE officiating.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Shirley’s memory to St. Francis Catholic School, 41 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.
