Douglas Jay Skinner, 53, of Daybrook, WV was called away from this life on December 4, 2016 at his home. Doug was born in Prince George County, Maryland on July 4, 1963 to the late Lee Marshall Skinner, Sr. And Nova Sue Roush Six. Doug was a coal miner and previously worked for Patriot Coal Mine. He loved living the motocross lifestyle with his family; especially being the mechanic and driver for his son Braden, nephew Tate and niece Alyssa. Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family as well, but he was never quite as good as his nephew Pony. He was also an avid Mountaineer fan who followed every Mountaineer sport. Doug leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Cheral Yost Skinner of Daybrook; two sons Dr. Heath Devin Skinner and his wife Lesly of Houston, TX and Braden Lynn Marshall Skinner and his fiance Makayla Haught of Daybrook; his grandchildren who he spoiled: Thomas Skinner, Laurence Skinner, and Breilynn Skinner; sisters Tina Kay Raber of Spraggs, PA and Renee Tharp of Pentress, WV; brothers Lee Marshall “Mark” Skinner, Jr. of Blacksville, WV; a sister-in-law Marlene White Henckel of Bruceton Mills, WV. Also surviving include his mother-in-law Cathy Yost; sister-in-law Kami Elliott and her husband James; and brother-in-law Brett Yost and his wife Mechelle, all of Daybrook, WV; and many very special nieces, nephews, and friends whom he adored. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother Ron White; and his father-in-law Larry Yost. Friends are invited to gather in support of his family at Daybrook Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 1-4 & 6-9 pm and again on Thursday, December 8th from 10 until the 11 am funeral service with Pastor Fred Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Daybrook Cemetery. Online condolences may be extended to the family at www.mcculla.com McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments.
