Obituary of Mary O’Gorman Hewett

Mary O’Gorman Hewett age 83 of Morgantown passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at her home. She was born April 28, 1932 in London, England a daughter of the late John and Marion Collin O’Gorman. Mary had been employed as a clerk with the Air Force Exchange and was a member of the Jennings Branch Church in Shallotte, NC. Mary was a self-taught award winning artist and was a member of the Morgantown Art Club and the British Wives Club. Mary is survived by her husband of 63 years Roy D. Hewett, three sons and spouses, Paul and Cleo Hewett of Morgantown, Steven and Jacqueline Hewett of North Carolina, and Dan and Wendy Hewett of Silver Spring, MD, two brothers, Dan O’Gorman of Hampton Poyle, England and Tony O’Gorman of Hethe England, grandchildren, Adam, Kerry, Kyle, Angela, Steven, and Aaron and great grandchildren, Kinley and Logan. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Michael. The family will receive friends at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Westover, on Wednesday, December 30th from 1:30 pm until the 3:00 pm funeral service with Pastor Rose McCartney officiating. McCulla Funeral Home will provide cremation services following the funeral service. Flowers will be accepted but the family requests that donations be made to the American Red Cross, 1223 Pineview Drive, Morgantown, WV 26505.
