Obituary of Donald K. Dean

Donald K. Dean of Fairmont Road passed peacefully at home on December 28, 2015.He was the son of late Robert and Eileen Dean. Don was born on August 16, 1938 at Mt. Clair, WV. Don became a member of Franklin Lodge No. 7 Ancient Free and accepted Mason of Buckhannon, WV on March 16, 1965. He was a member of Philippi High School Class 1957 in Philippi, WV. He served in the US Army at Fort Riley, Kansas. He was also called for duty during the Cuban Crisis serving at Fort Meade, MD. Don was employed by the H-P Stores of Oakland, Maryland for 25 years. He was a store manager at several locations before becoming Operation Supervisor over stores in WV. He retired from Consol Osage No. 3 Mine after working there for 13 years. After retiring he worked for old friends Aaron and Sunshine Cage at AOC Solution. He survived by his wife Lola of 58 years. Children Mark Dean and wife Debbie of Morgantown, Matthew Dean and wife Lori of Morgantown. Grandchildren Nathan Dean and wife Luci of Morgantown, Emily Clemmer and husband Jake of Morgantown, Tyler Dean and wife Hilary of Charleston, WV and Zachary Dean and fiancée Ciera Gibson of Morgantown. Great-grandchildren Silas and Victor Dean, Ellie Clemmer and one great-grandson due in the spring. One Sister Linda and husband John Toben. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Dean and a sister Beverly. Also his in-laws Ford and Vera Dickenson of Philippi. He attended Sugar Grove Presbyterian Church in Morgantown, WV. He was a member of the EUB Church at Indian Fork, Philippi WV until its closing. Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30th from 12-3 pm and 5 until the 8 pm funeral service with Leonard Graham officiating. There will be a private grave side service. Final resting place will be at Beverly Hills Memorial Garden in Morgantown. In lieu of flowers please send remembrance to the Bartlett house for the homeless.
